The main thing I have been adjusting on is balancing work with everything else. Where before I seemed to have a lot of times for everything, I now have to delegate the time according to make sure things get done in a timely faster. This helps on the efficiency end I believe. ROMG and MD are not taking any new work until June 1st. This will allow us to wrap lingering projects, me to fully adjust to the 9-5 life, and a much needed breathier. So for last week:

  • Grae Enterprises is gettin a refresh; launching a magazine Blog, an exclusive social networking site, and a tweaking of the current site. Designs up shortly.
  • HouseDancer.com is also getting a tweak as well in time to prepare for the rollout of the exclusive interviews w/ house dance legends
  • ROMG launched BeanPye.com, an assecories line of hand-painted creative products.
  • Learning Drupal! It’s got some good and bad points. I will investigate further.
  • Monthly Goals coming up this week.

Jeez, it’s been two weeks since we last saw our hero. Since then, I have been to the sunny shores of Jamaica where I got some rest and relaxation from a finacially dreadful Feb. However, I got some good work in and even drew some. On with the show!

  • Took a one week vacation with the gf to Jamaica. Sunny, good food, amazing dancing, and white sand beaches. It was good to get away.
  • Going to refocus my main site to web design only. ROMG can handle all other needs. This way, I can focus on web design. Still available for other stuff if the need arises.
  • D.Woods, formerly of Danity Kane, official website is going up tomorrow! go ROMG!
  • Wrote my second article, a review of the accounting software that has been saving my butt, Outright.com.
  • Went to a really good figure drawing session and meet cool artists, drank wine, and even painted a bit.
  • My roomie, Phil, is the man! peep is toy creations.
  • Newsletter should be going out tomorrow or weds. Gotta keep on the marketing grind.
  • Started using Collabtive for my project management and Outlook more for calendar, task, and to-do lists. Trying to cut down on costs by using free software and managing my time better. Look for a review by the end of the month.
  • Month review and goals will be on Weds.

A week has gone and went and its time to wrap the week up. First I noticed I didnt post all week, shame on me! Have been reading and researching a lot this week. Being more proactive in new client acquistions and marketing. Coupled that with drawing and redesigning a few things. So in short, excuse, excuse, excuse! lol.

  • Above and below are the design tweaks I have done for theCoolAid.com. The client commented on how the first one was a little too colorful and playful. Taking the focus away from the content. I went a little more subdued this time around
  • Recieved a really cool email from Valonne Smith on her positive feedback for her new site: “On average I have sold a book per day.  That is more than before, because on average I was selling a book per week!  ” Another satisfied customer!
  • ROMG is headin into full marketing push. Never too late for that.
  • Putting the finishing touches on my next review to be posted on weds. Read my last review here.
  • Working on some promos for ROMG, Housedancer.com, and Mookie Design. Inspiration cometh!
  • Pushed back the newsletter to March 1.
  • Graphic novel has 2 issues fully scripted and a 3rd in development. Character designs are plodding along. I’ll post those next week.
  • Twitter had increased my page views!
  • This drupal stuff is a little confusing.

full-coolaidYou know, I actually enjoy these little recaps of the week. It shows if A) i haven’t done crap all week or B) I get a gold star for productivity! Either way it is helping and consistentcy is always a good thing in blogs right? So, here we go:

  • Installed Adobe CS4 and am marvelling in the awesomeness
  • As you can see above, the first pass on thecoolaid.com is done. The client wants a fun and vibrant feel so i went w/ a playful color pallette which isn’t a norm for me. I think its coming along.
  • A bunch of follow ups and reply backs. Gearing up for the short month and planning out March/April
  • Working on the new newsletter (last one was in August!) That will be out later this week.
  • Attended the NYC Comic Con ’09. Hours of geeky fun and artistic inspiration. Love hangin w/ my comic geek brethren.
  • Launched the redesign of Housedancer.com! Really excited abou this project as I am going to be involved with filming and editing of interviews of dance legends. Fun stuff
  • Learning Drupal. SLowly but surely but nodes and views  are so foreign to my wordpress brain.
  • Also recommiting to learning better swedish

What a week! Can’t believe I didnt post anything all week. Horrible, Febuary has come and its time to see if  I actually met my January goals. Actually, that will be for tomorrow’s post. But today let’s get to the recap!

  • I redesigned my blog! Well, more of an upgrade if anything. But I like it, adding in some jquery and organizing it a bit. Also, utilized what I learn from Rockable Press’ WP Theme Designer book. (Review on weds, I promise!)
  • Putting together case studies of past projects; Hanna Herbertson, Saiko Sushi, In The House Magazine, and one more. I want to give the audience a little more view on a multi-part project.
  • D.Woods is 98%. Just need that last “OK” and we can launch. Good ROMG collabo. Fun times.
  • TheCoolAid.com is in the design phase. The wireframes were approved so now im gettin done to the fun part and playing around w/ color pallettes as well. I will post a few designs this week.
  • Made the  flyer(above) for Hanna’s class in Jamaica later this month.
  • Made some good connects w/ Itsdesignrelated.com. Cool and informative blog. Shouts out to Courtney and her crew!
  • Redesign process for ROMG is continuting but we have our mascot, ROM-G done. Debuting soon!
  • And lastly, w/ this economic downturn, my parents are without a job and time on their hands. So, my latest pro bo no project is to help them make an inspirational themed blog. They are in to helping folks and giving guidance when they can and tis will help them (and possibly generate secondary income). More as it happens.
  • You can always take a look at my Google Reader Shared Lists as well. good stuff on there.
