I was recently in Las Vegas to Judge a House Dance Battle at Vegas Shakedown 11. I had a blast! Reconnected w/ old friends and made a lot of new ones. It was a good dancer weekend buy also did it up Vegas style (gambled and actually won money!). Above is the Judges Showcase w/ Freak(KHZ/SoulSteppers), Slim, and myself. Besides the weak waacking, I actually like what I did here. Enjoy!
S/O to the Soul Steppers for organizing an open house session the day after. It was great to build, learn, and exchange ideas when new and amazing dancers.
Last night I went to Juste Debout NYC 2011 and entered the House competition for fun. The main goal was to have fun and enjoy myself, which I did! A lot of Bay Area folks came out for this and it was dope seeing them all!
So, one of my 2011 goals is to dance more and contribute more to the community (in front of the scenes as of late it’s been behind the scenes). My first step is being the substitute for Byron’s House Dance Class at PMT Studios for the next 3 wednesdays. Should be some fun so come out and enjoy! Details after the jump!
I do not have many clips of me dancing. Not because I am afraid of the camera but more because I don’t think about putting myself out there, dance wise. But every now again, I will get caught and it is out to the interwebs that I dance and do it well (pops collar). SO f it! Let the slew of cam dance clips keep coming to close out the year, enjoy! So, as I continue on my artistic A.D.D. journey, the latest avenue has been film. Along, James “Slim” Dang & Paul Justin Encinas, we filmed three days of house dancing in NYC. It didn’t turn out exactly how we planned but definitely was a good learning experience. It was my first time playing the role of producer; securing location, getting equipment, and organizing talent. Fun stuff and more to come!
