Five Boro Bike Tour and joining the Paper Clip Society

What son! I have completed a 40 mile bike ride through the city of NYC! True, not a crazy accomplishment like graduating from grad school or something but man it was definitely a new feat for me. My new bike (to be named shortly) suffered a bent wheel, broken spoke, and a locked 4 gear going up the Verazano bridge. but I still prevailed! The Table of Truth in general, is pretty healthy (besides our love of whiskey) and it was important for us to take on this challenge together. The funny part is, where do I go from here? Summer is coming and I will continue so I can get into “tank top” shape as I like to call it. Check the pictures out over at the table’s website. Working on 2 freelance project’s this month and djing a rooftop gig. This is looking to be a very busy and productive month.

Also! I am now blogging at Paper Clip Society with the Mookie Memo, lending my creative business expertise to an already fascinating site based in the Bay Area. My first post is up now5 web apps to help your business.

April: DJ Cam is on the move!

Well hello there! So apparently I have a busy April with 4 DJ gigs at La Linea in the Lower Eastside in NYC. One in particular is The Table of Truth sponsored party next Thursday. We want to make it a night to chill with the fans and meet new ones. Since La Linea is kind of our HQ, we figured what better place to share with the fans! I am also filling in the next 3 Fridays as the resident DJ. Hopefully, they don’t get sick of me OR they get a nice taste of how GeekChic rocks it! You can download the majority of my mixes here or check the most reason one “Something For the Club 2

17: Something For the Club

So, I took the week and actually listened to the radio. Mostly because I rarely do and sometimes you need to get in touch with what’s popular to the kids these days. I still like spinning the smooth soulful sheit but I also like dancing with ladies as well. This is a nice grab bag of dance able tunes old, new, and forgotten. You know, the mix you listen to while you pre-drink before you hit the town. Enjoy! Sidenote: I got 4 gigs upcoming in April in the Lower Eastside of NYC. Keep you posted!

S/O to DJ Commish on that Billy Ocean track! Geek Chic baby!

Aw the winds of change..

I often write about change because I believe it is one of the constant in our lives we have little control over. Sure, we can prepare for it, plan for it, or even resist it. But in the end, it comes ready or not. Ideally, it is how you deal with said change that really defines you. Are you resistant to change and thus causing you more stress and aggravation? Do you embrace change because it shakes up your boring or “stable” existence? Or do you not care and flow with it like water (“the water is formless” – B. Lee) and let it take you to your next adventure? I think I like the last one. =)
